Avoid standing or sitting too long. If you have been standing for too long, then rest your legs and sit for a moment. Conversely, if you have been sitting too long, try to stand or walk for a while. Further, avoid sitting with your legs crossed.
Excess weight can make the workload of blood vessels more severe and can lead to varicose veins. So, keep your weight normally during pregnancy according to your doctor’s advice.
Regularly exercising during pregnancy can improve blood circulation in the body and prevent varicose veins. Several sports that can be done by the mother during pregnancy such as cycling, walking lunge (this requires two small barbells), swimming.
To prevent hemorrhoids, one of the types of varicose veins that occur around the anus and rectum, you can take precautions by drinking lots of fluids and adding fiber-rich intake in each of your diets.
Avoid wearing high heels
You are suggested to wear flat shoes (flat) to maintain blood circulation around the legs and calves.
Limit salt consumption
Limiting salt (sodium) intake during pregnancy will minimize swelling in the veins.
For some cases of varicose veins in pregnant women can be treated with injections of drugs or surgery. However, surgery is not recommended during pregnancy. Varicose veins in pregnant women will tend to improve after giving birth, especially if they do not have varicose veins before becoming pregnant.
